Travel Diary – Busan [부산]

Busan is a beautiful port city, home to gorgeous beaches and mountains! It is the second largest city in South Korea, bustling with life and breath-taking places to explore. Although I only stayed here for a few days with my friends, I’ll recommend some incredible places to visit in Busan!

Haeundae Beach 해운대해수욕장

This beach is one of Korea’s most spectacular and famous beaches! The view is beautiful for its clear, blue waters and white sand beach. Many cultural events and festivals are held here, and it is the prime summer vacation spot for many tourists. Check this beauty of a destination out when you are visiting Busan!

Another stunning beach to visit is Gwangalli Beach. It is famous for its fine sand and clear, striking blue waters. Although I didn’t come in the daytime to see the light blue waters, the night view was just as amazing. The bright lights of Gwangandaegyo Bridge can be seen shining in the dark evening sky. After walking along the beautiful coastline, I took pictures with my friends and held pretty sparklers for fun. We finished off the night by dining at a delicious chicken and beer restaurant nearby.

Jagalchi Market 부산 자갈치시장

The largest seafood market in Korea is the lively Jalgalchi Fish Market! Visitors can buy a variety of different live and dried fish from the stalls here. You can even eat the fresh raw fish right in the market! Once you chosen your seafood and paid for it, the stall owner can get the restaurant to cook it fresh and delicious for you. How mouth-wateringly exciting!

BIFF Square [BIFF 광장]

visited BIFF Square during the festive season!

BIFF Square was named after the Busan International Film Festival. It is the perfect place to go shopping and eating! My friends and I came during the Christmas season and it was very festive and brimming with activity and excitement! There are numerous theatres and shops to go to at BIFF Square and I had so much fun exploring there!

Gamcheon Culture Village 감천문화마을

almost evening time in Busan!

Last, but certainly not least was my favourite part of Busan, the Gamcheon Culture Village! This vibrant little village consists of colourful painted houses and shops. It is known for its steep slopes and twisting alleyways. There are numerous fun murals and sculptures decorated by the residence. Adorable cats can even be seen travelling on the rooftops! I loved visiting the quaint, pretty stores here and even ate some yummy ice cream from one of the cafes there.
